Legal marriage assistance under the Special Marriage Act, 1954
An Inter-Caste Marriage is legally performed under the Special Marriage Act, 1954, allowing two individuals from different castes or religions to marry without changing their beliefs. This is a completely legal and government-recognized process conducted through the Marriage Registrar Office.
Both parties submit a notice to the Marriage Registrar in their district.
The notice is displayed publicly for 30 days to allow for objections, if any.
If no valid objections are received, the marriage is approved by the Registrar.
The couple signs the marriage register in the presence of 3 witnesses.
The government-issued marriage certificate is provided on the same day.
